Hi everybody,
Holy shit, I am so frazzled right now. I am writing you from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. I took a taxi to the wrong terminal, which would be okay, except no signs or directions tell you where to go. I asked a lovely gentleman who told me I had to take a train… which I did. However, the signage was confusing, and I ended up all over the place. Then, after successfully making it through customs, I almost got taken out by 4 (I’m guessing 19-21 year old) Spanish guys who were about to miss their flight. One of them jumped down half a flight of stairs. It was all pretty comedic. Now I’m chillin’!
On Friday, I flew from Bali to Malaysia.

I got to my hotel around 12:30 am 😩 Late nights are fun for me. I’m posting a video I took of myself after arriving.
On Saturday morning, I slept in!!!!!! I had no major plans, so I took a Grab into the city proper to meander around. Kuala Lumpur is a huge shopping city. I got stuck in so many malls just by walking. The sheer number of H&M’s I passed is astonishing to me. I took another discombobulated video I sent my family, which I won’t post here 👀

Also these things are everywhere.

Here are some coolio things about Kuala Lumpur. It has the tallest twin towers in the world. Unfortunately, I couldn’t go to the top because tickets were sold out. It’s still cool to see from the bottom.

I basically did a lot of walking around yesterday. There is something very peaceful about the way of life in Malaysia, which I very much appreciate…especially after riding on the back of motorcycles in Bali.

I then stopped at a coffee shop that, no joke, had around a hundred types of bean roasts you could choose from.

After a super duper-tough day, I returned to my hotel. I stayed a bit out of the city, and the traffic can be bad, bad, bad. It’s definitely more of a car city than a walking city.
BUT look at the view from the top of my hotel! Also, the infinity pool 😍 I got to talk to my bro bro, and then I called it a night.

I also had to be organized and pack my shit as well, which took a hot sec.

Here is the last beautiful picture of me with all my stuff.

I went to the National Visual Arts Museum of Malaysia this morning. I spent about 3 hours there because the artwork was so intriguing. I’m going to post some pics below. Hopefully all you art people out there will enjoy. I think I’m turning into an art museum gal. Also, it’s free, which is an end-of-trip bonus.

To finish my trip, I headed over to Chinatown. I ate some good food, took pictures, and grabbed some last souvenirs in the local market.

Fun fact of the day: Did you know that the second tallest tower in the world is in Kuala Lumpur? Well, I sure didn’t until today. Over the past two days, I have been observing this HUNK of a building, and I finally looked it up today. It’s called Merdeka 118, if anyone is curious.

Okay, that’s all I have in me for the time being. My flight to Tokyo takes off at 10:50 pm and is about 7 hours. Then I have a 10hr and 40min layover… I think I’m going to leave the airport and explore. I can’t pass up the opportunity if it’s right in front of me. One last adventure, for now!
I am a tired little bean, so I hope to catch some zzzzzzz’s on the flight. I love you all. Thanks for tuning in.
DON’T WORRY!!!! There will be one more blog post. Then she’ll be retired for a bit.
Your well-traveled girly,
Mahala
*addendum post flight. I will not be going into the city. It takes a long time and I had a slightly traumatic experience on my last flight so I didn’t sleep much. The kid across the aisle from me pooped in his pants. It smells so so so bad I thought I was going to barf. Anyway it’s 7:30 in the morning and I’m gonna go find a place to sleep.
