I’m already falling behind. I realize it’s really easy to blog when you’re entirely alone, but as soon as you meet other people, things become non-stop. BUT that’s how it’s supposed to go!!! I’m meeting some fantastic people from all around the world. My dorm has eight beds, and 3 of those are filled by Luisa, Cat, and Josh, three friends traveling together from the U.K. They immediately took me under their wing and invited me to adventure with them. I’m so grateful for that. As we all know, I was feeling slightly anxious. Other travelers have filled the other four beds on and off. The dynamic constantly changes, and it’s always so fun.
Today, I woke up at 11 (let’s remember, I went to bed at 2:30, so it was much needed) and signed up for the elephant tour the hostel offers, which started at 12. I barely had time to grab a bite to eat, missed caffeine, and hopped on the shuttle bus that took me an hour away from the city. Upon arrival, I immediately saw an elephant. I’ve seen elephants in zoos before, but this experience is different. The day consisted of feeding, trekking with, and bathing the elephants.

I mean is this even real life like wtf
Also, as you see in the picture above, I am very stylish these days. They offer you outfits to wear and I couldn’t say no to the full experience. I’m SO cute! I also got to touch them and was surprised to find they are bristly and corse.

I’m so in awe of these beings . The pure joy they gave me is indescribable.
The tour company also fed us pad thai on the way back which was the first time I’ve had it here. SO GOOD.

After returning to the hostel, I met Noelle from North Carolina and Matisse from France. We all went to dinner together and talked about our respective lives. They are only here for the night and then going up to Pai, where I will link up with them again. One of the best parts of staying in a hostel is meeting people on the same trajectory as you. I already know two other people who will be staying at my hostel in Pai. Yay, friends!!
I went to a Mai Thai fight with the hostel for the last event of the day. It’s super my scene… but it’s part of the Thai experience, so it’s a must. People literally beat the shit out of each other. Fighters get full-on knocked out.

I ended up leaving after a couple of fights. I was so exhausted and needed to curl up in bed.
I’m gonna try to do the best I can with blogging but it might not be every night. Just pay attention!!!
Your busy girly,
Mahala
