Beach Girl in Bali

Hi everybody,

I’m back to give some little updates! I am living the full-on beach life!!! Blue skies, sunshine, smoothies bowls, and pink coffee shops. YES!

My only complaint is that I don’t have someone to put sunscreen on my back. I feel like a contortionist. Hopefully, I won’t have some super-odd tan lines!

Yesterday, I started the day with a smoothie bowl (my diet here). When I went to start reading my paper book 😉 the lady sitting next to me asked if I liked said book, and we struck up a conversation!

I won’t lie—Loni is pretty cool. She’s around 40 years old, worked a good job, saved money, quit, and just finished solo traveling Africa in a VW van. She is writing a book about her adventure and working to de-stigmatizing some assumptions about female solo travel. We hit the beach together and set up shop at a beach club. It was a delight!

Yep

I also found the motorbike of my dreams!

Taking donations 💸💰💲

We grabbed dinner and then went to the beach for sunset. IT WAS STUNNING!!

Pure joy

We then sat outside her hostel eating cookies and watching Love is Blind UK ( I may or may not be watching it right now… )

PEANUT BUTTER 🥜

ALSO the water here is not supposed to be great for your hair. This is my hair after two days of not washing it 🙂 🙂

I think this might take the cake for hottest picture of me!

Today, I meant Loni for breakfast… see smoothie bowl below. Also, pink aesthetic! Okay, I’ll stop 🛑

I think I might have to continue the pink cafe adventure!

I then went and inhaled my book at the beach. Period. Relaxing!!!!! I also took a long barefoot walk on the beach.

Yuh

I changed hotels today; this is my view for the next five nights.

Special times. You can see the ocean off in the distance!

I think I’m going on an adventure to a different part of the island tomorrow to see what I can see. Looking forward to it. I’ve also planned a trip to Ubud, which is the classic eat, pray, love spot. It’s more inland and there are apparently a lot of michevious monkeys there. Wish me luck!!!

Your sun kissed girly,

Mahala

  1. M, So pleased you met a kindred spirit in Loni and so many companions along the way! Just think, you could be a chapter, at least an acknowledgment, in her book of Travel by Loni!👍

I can only imagine that you are going to be sad to end this journey of a million joyous and learning curve memories! But, it surely has lit a fire of future adventures for you‼️ You go, girly girl❣️
