Hi everyone,
Guess who’s backkkkkk! This time in Sweden with my family!!
A little backstory… Coni, Stefan’s middle son, had a conference in Stockholm, and Stef and Mom decided they wanted to attend. At the end of May, Stefan texted me asking if Hayden and I wanted to join, but that it would be a surprise for Mom!
After last summer, I feel like a pretty chill traveler so I was just kinda whatever happens happens but figuring out the basics to bring was def funny. For example, from bits and pieces Hayden and I gleaned there would be camping, and asked Stefan what to pack. The response was “bring what you need.” (Love a good Stefan moment).
Now I love a good surprise and any opportunity to travel so this was obviously a yes from me. The funny part is… Stefan had Mom planning the entire trip completely in the dark.
ANYWAYS… a few days before the trip Stef spilled the beans that I was coming to mom (on accident) so that helped me with my packing list a bit!! Hayden got to still surprise though which was fun.
Hayden and I both got in yesterday 8/3, with Hayden having a 24 hour + travel day, and me having moved apartments over the last few days, barely having made my connection in Iceland, and both of us on a max of 2 hours of sleep.
You know that delirium you only feel with 0 sleep and traveling for hours… both of us were there. AND… we both received the news that we had a 6-hour drive south, leaving immediately upon our arrival (the results of mom planning and having no idea Hayden and I would be there.) At this point, Hayden and I both kinda laughed, shrugged, I may have teared up a little, and just went with it. I left the airport chanting “We will not murder each other, we will not murder each other, we will not murder each other.”
Here is a picture of us all crammed in the car with master driver Coni. Such snug bugs all thriving on 0 sleep minus Coni.

After driving we arrived at what Hayden would call the Swedish version of a KOA which means it’s a KOA but WAY better. Some pics of our accommodations below!

That’s all I have to report on. Hayden and I crashed hard and hopefully have warded off jet lag. Fingers crossed. Today we have a bit more of a drive to our first cottage. As for the itinerary, I’m learning along with y’all.
Tack (thanks in Swedish),
Mahala
