Hi all,
Welcome back to blog nation. This time I am on another family adventure to Prague, Austria, and Germany.
Stefan has termed this year the βgraduation yearβ since Coni or shall I say Dr. Heinemann (Stefanβs middle son), Hayden, and I all graduated with various degrees. All of that makes this trip a celebration of sorts plus Gabe (Stefanβs oldest son) just finished his first year of grad school here in Prague. Unfortunately, Hayden is already on that work grind and Vali (Stefanβs youngest son) is a researcher smarty in Illinois this summer. Hence, the group consists of Mom, Stefan, me, Gabe, and Coni.
Travel aside, I graduated with my master’s degree last Friday and start a new job back in Montana on July 13th so this is my window to just exist without all those external obligations. I am very much looking forward to it.

I want to remind you all of my blog philosophy that I posted on my first Asia blog.
1.) This will most definitely be a continuous train of thought and not some beautifully written soliloquy.
2.) While grammar is important, I do not intend to grammar police my writing. If this bothers you bow out now.
3.) I am also going to prioritize being here and in the moment. If I fall off so be it⦠but I really enjoy writing in this cutie pink blog so I doubt that will happen.
SO if youβve gotten this farβ¦ thank you for reading through the formalities. Let us begin.
DAY 1
Jet lag is 10/10 or is it even jet lag when you just stay up for 30 hours straight? Yeah none of us slept much on our planes π which makes for a fun group experience. Gabe thankfully met us at the Prague airport to guide us through public transportation to our Airbnb. Mom chose an accommodation that shares a wall with the renowned Charles Bridge which is apparently one of the main tourist attractions. Upon arriving we had to wait for the check-in guy who we couldnβt seem to get in touch with.

Basically our first afternoon consisted of sitting with a pile of bags against a wall, watching tourists pass by, AND I got shit on by a pigeon. Yep, it went in my hair, and when I reached up to be like what the hell was that, it smeared all over my hands. It was cute. Thereβs a first time for everything and I was glad to provide some much-needed laughter to everyone else in the group. See a hot picture below.

About 45 min after the incident the man showed up to let us in and I took a much needed shower.
We then had a lovely somewhat delirious evening. I got a chicken schnitzel and BEER which we will be drinking quite a lot of here. We also got to watch Gabe play 3×3 basketball with a local team he joined.

Mom, Stef, and I being little tired weenies left early and traversed down a hillside to get some much-needed sleep. The walk back was stunning, beautiful, amazing. The church bells were ringing and if you listened close enough you could hear singing voices echoing across the hills⦠I mean come on. I was out cold once my head hit the pillow and that is all I have to say about day 1.

DAY 2
Here is the living/dining room in our little place. It opens out onto a busy walking street and is right above a churro ice cream place so the smell of cinnamon wafts up through the open window. Heaven in a smell.

AND IT’S MOM’S BIRTHDAY. I woke up before everyone else and scouted out goodies and coffee to surprise Mom first thing. When I came back the house was still quiet so I ventured out on a quiet walk on my own which was serene. Nice to be at a tourist attraction before the tourists.

Other than that we have been adopting a slow European pace of life today. Meandered to a coffee place, sat in the sun, and sipped on some cappuccinos. Moseyed to a grocery store because we have personal chef coni, and back to the house to read and blog.

After a lil nap, we rode the tram up to a beer garden at the top of an overlook, sipped, chatted, and walked back to our apartment. Super hard day. Now we await chef Coniβs pasta and a raspberry mascarpone type cake thing.

Also we got a little impromptu music on the street that we listened to from our apartment. Mom was in heaven

That is all I have for now! Thanks for tuning in. See you all soon π
